![]() ![]() Students will learn about the opportunities their degree presents when entering a STEM career, gain access to career advice, connect with professionals in the industry, attend conferences and workshops, apply for mentoring opportunities, receive job alerts, have business cards printed and more. ![]() In doing this, students are empowered to enhance their professional skills and networks through a broad range of activities and events, both online and face-to-face. The WiSE Program (launched as Women in Science and Engineering in 2015) is unique in the tertiary sector, connecting students with peers, alumni and employers. ![]() The WiSE program encourages students to challenge gender disparity in STEM with practical strategies for building a successful career with the support of their peers, female STEM alum and Industry mentors. WiSE aims to reshape this and connect students with valuable knowledge and lifelong skills to improve the overall representation of females in STEM careers. We know that currently, only 16% of STEM qualified Australians are female, noting a significant underrepresentation of females in the STEM workforce. The Women in STEM Education (WiSE) Program supports the career development of women studying in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at Western Sydney University. ![]()
